Pioneering long-range solar and wind powered exploration project.
We are two students building a 2 meter robot sailboat that will cross the Atlantic Ocean completely alone; no crew, no remote control, powered only by wind and sun.
On the way it collects ocean and weather data that is dangerous and expensive for crewed ships to gather, and publishes it free for researchers. Everything is designed, printed, soldered and coded by us in Set�bal, Portugal.

Collects CO2 flux at the ocean surface across 970km, mapping how much carbon the Atlantic is absorbing in real time.
Logs sea surface and air temperature continuously. SST drives hurricanes, ocean currents, and global rainfall patterns.
Measures chlorophyll concentration and phytoplankton density.
Records UV-A and UV-B radiation reaching the ocean surface to understand how clouds and atmosphere regulate incoming solar energy.
Captures wind speed, direction, and barometric pressure across the full route.
Records surface current velocity and water speed across 970km, building a continuous picture of Atlantic current movement.

I'm Sophie, an aspiring maritime engineer with a lifelong passion for sailing and the ocean. I'm helping build a fully autonomous sailboat to explore the future of autonomous marine technology.




These companies gave us the hardware and materials the boat is built from. Their logos travel with it across the Atlantic.
A Core One L printer plus Prusament PLA and carbon-fibre-reinforced filament. Every printed part of the hull and the rigid wing came off that machine.
Iridium satellite hardware, so the boat can report its position and send data home from the middle of the ocean where there is no other way to reach it.
The dAISy Mini AIS receiver. It lets the boat hear commercial ships long before they arrive and steer clear of them on its own.
Meteorological instrumentation and telemetry, feeding the wind and weather measurements that both steer the boat and make up the data set we publish.
Backing the mission and helping get a student built boat from a workshop in Setubal onto the open Atlantic.
We are still looking for partners to help finish the boat and get it to the start line.
